A foam monitor (also called a foam cannon or water-cum-foam monitor) is a high-capacity, heavy-duty firefighting device designed to discharge a controlled mixture of foam concentrate, water, and air over long distances. It is primarily engineered to suppress Class B fires involving flammable liquids, chemicals, and hydrocarbon fuels by blanketing the burning surface to smother the oxygen supply and seal volatile vapors.
