The extinguisher utilizes a specialized, fluidized, and siliconized monoammonium phosphate dry chemicalpowder. It combats fires through distinct chemical reactions depending on the fuel source
- Class A (Ordinary Combustibles): Melts at approximately 350°F (177°C) to coat and insulate materials like wood, paper, trash, and cloth, cutting off oxygen.
- Class B (Flammable Liquids): Smothers the flames and breaks the chemical chain reaction of liquids like gasoline, oil, and solvents.
